Ethiopian Level 4 COC exam: format and how to prepare

The national Level 4 theory paper is 80 multiple-choice items. Pass theory at 55%. Pass the practical at 100% of the centre’s criteria. These numbers come from Directive 912/2014 (GC 2022-06-08). Abrari is an independent study aid — not MoLS, not OCACC.

Exam format

  • Theory: 80 multiple-choice items only.
  • Theory pass mark: 55%.
  • Practical pass mark: 100% of the centre’s criteria.
  • National duration is unpublished. Abrari mocks default to 120 minutes (assumption).
  • Levels I–II are practical-only under the same directive.

How to prepare

  1. Open your occupation page and read the Level 4 units of competence.
  2. Work original Abrari practice items (they stay labelled under review — they are not the live paper).
  3. Sit a timed mock at 80 questions if we have a bank for that occupation.
  4. If we published a practical checklist, use it as informal prep, not as an official marksheet.
  5. Confirm the current occupational standard on MoLS or your regional agency site before exam day. Abrari does not replace official notices.

How many questions are on the Level 4 COC theory exam?
Directive 912/2014 sets Level 4 theory at 80 multiple-choice items. The theory pass mark is 55%. The practical must meet 100% of the centre’s published criteria. National duration is not published; Abrari timed mocks default to 120 minutes as an assumption you can change.
How should I prepare for Level 4?
Study the units of competence for your occupation, then use original Abrari practice (under review) and a timed mock at the national item count. Are Levels I and II the same as Level 3 or 4?
No. Directive 912/2014 treats Levels I–II as practical-only national assessment. Levels III–V have a theory paper (50 / 80 / 100 items). Do not mix Social-stream EUEE math with COC occupation papers — they are different exams.
Is Abrari the official exam board?
No. Abrari is independent of MoLS and OCACC. We never present unofficial practice as the live national paper.
